The Story

The Courtyard was created by Nikki Hough, after years of working within the jewellery industry and retail after studying Applied Art and Design at Bournemouth University. I loved spending hours talking to customers and designing stunning pieces of jewellery but the draw has always been making jewellery! As with all stories Nikki's is one of twists and turns, the last couple of years has had some dramatic ones for Nikki and her family. The resonating response being life's precious, so lets enjoy it! So here we are opening the workshop, Nikki with the help of her family and love of jewellery. 

The Courtyard workshop offers a space for people to come and have a go at making their own pieces of jewellery or even their own wedding rings. With an ethos of fun and escape from your "normal" for a little while. Along side this Nikki also does lots bespoke work which shes loves as its always something new and challenging to make! She also has a range that shes always developing, including her extremely popular Stafford Knot pieces and ballet shoes! 

 

A Short Note From Me! 

'The thing I love about jewellery is how something so small can be so precious for so many reasons; it may have been a gift, or handed down through family, or something your sibling made from pasta when they were five years old! The memory's attached to these things is what makes them so special. I have found that the experience of making the item, that you'll then give to someone special, adds such value to something for that person. I wanted to be able to offer than experience to others, and I firmly believe that you can do it. '
